Its def worth it, I use a vendor...330 to my door with bolsters versus economy foam at 1.5 inch times 4 to do a bench 2 sheets high density 2 sheets medium density is 90 to 100 bucks most have about a day in sculptin, grinding ect so for 200 bucks your saving a day labor which will allow you to turn it a day sooner.

Not to forget so I charge 500 for the foam kit and a day of sculpting is by the hr.
  • Yamata fy5318 ANY GOOD
I had one few years back hated it. It was advertised as walking foot but was actually needle feed with a walking foot attachment it didnt actually feed with the foot. Tons of issues. Sold it for 200 bucks lol

Oh yeah my tension is hahaha undone on the top. I have plenty of 207, jus doesn't give you that pop 277 does. I have right size needles and even adjusted my hook out so there's proper spacing between scarf of the needle and hook as it loops the thread. It just doesn't want to allow speed lol.
  • 277 thread
Yes if I go fast it will skip stitches and bind.
  • Anyone disassemble a 2000 Mercedes center armrest
I have a 2005 s65. not sure if it’s the same style but post some pics
  • insole board
usually landeau foam is just used. you get the same effect and is readily available.
  • Fat Luck'y
he’s semi retired. comes out to help friends with jobs occasionally.
  • Tension issues
i will say i have never had a bottom load machine do well with 207. you get a lot of needle deflection. throws stuff off, i had the juki 1541s. it was complete shit. it spent more time getting worked on than sewing. i bought a 20 yr old mitsubishi top load, it’s a dream not a single issue in the past 3 years.
  • Wrapping items.
well if I have a pice that has complex curves like a door grab, after i glue everything up, i simply fold but not crease it in half where both glued ends are near each other. that will allow you to get you alignments right with out worrying about the end flopping around in the glued surface.

i never waited over night for glue to set on a initial coat, if i’m in a huge hurry i just use a heat gun to speed things up.

as far as sound deading, hushmat extreme is ok, but i only use second skin. stuff is phenomenal they even have a close cell pad that works wonders.

dynmatt is like nike, your paying for a name that has half the science that these new companies put into sound deading.
  • Lighting!
lol 6k sq ft is pretty damn big. that’s going to take a lot of lights. is always go with the “daylight” led lights not sure in a led 8ft fluorescent style. but they usually come out to 30w. work great but i’d just ask home depot or some were local if the lights your going to buy if they are compatible with the ballast you have in the current light.
  • machine top side tension assembly
lol i’m with you Darren, it just seemed logical so i did it. But, thanks everyone for their input. Luckily, here in denver we have a shop called Ralph’s Power sewing. They are a full blown sewing machine shop, they stock any parts you could ever need and even have a in house machine shop.

50 bucks, this is what i ended up with. imr6l0cttdrx9i2q.jpeg

  • Multi meter recommendation.
power probe is legit. Unless you are a mechanic seeking out parasitic draws it will do what you want. they are computer safe the won’t deploy air bags and have phenomenal attachments. if it’s a true multimeter you seek Fluke is bullet proof.
  • Magnets instead of clips
    neodine magnets are awesome!
  • Got hooked up
i’ll be honest, the quality of this leather is pretty amazing. showed it to some guys at work and it’s better than what we get locally.
  • Padded ultra leather?
Bostrum seats are a big deal, they retail starting at like 1k+ per seat.. if I was a gambling man I’d bet they get a special deal from ultraleather where they produce just that for them since they manufacture so many seats.

  • Juki 1508NH Sewing Machine
You guys have a long arm tall single needle machine?
  • Juki 1508NH Sewing Machine
I'd go with the NC. I had the juki 1541s it was complete garbage. Bought it brand new have had better luck with the 20 yr old Mitsubishi I bought to replace it.
  • Glue Pot
The pot doesn't really matter. But this company specializes in a gun for spraying contact cement.

    http://www.spraycat.com/adhesives.html

We have a company here in Denver called BD company, they are the local distributor they carry a fluid line that is flawless and doesn't clog or break down. It's all made by ca technologies here in Colorado.

Only crappy part is, you'll really think twice it's really pricy and if you go cheap you will spend more time fumbling to get it to work. I went down this road a few years ago. Spent about 600 on the entire set up from ca technologies but, you can hang the gun up for 4 months pick it up and it will spray like you just used it yesterday.
  • Removing stains from vinyl
I always used solvent lightly to lift as much as I can with out damaging the material, then I find some sem dye that is a comparable match and dye it blending into the color around.

If that wasn't an option I just replaced.
