Hello. I've been doing a lot of custom big rig seats, etc for awhile now. The replacement seats from Bostrum that my associate sells are made with ultra leather covers that have a foam backing attached to the material. I have looked everywhere that I can think of to find samples and suppliers of this material to use when modifying or repairing these seats with no luck. Do any of you have an outlet or know of a supplier that would carry this? Thanks for your help.
That was probably flame bonded at the factory where the seats were made. I worked in a factory that made seating, majority for John Deer and Freightliner. 95% of the seat covers I sewed were all flame bonded in house. I doubt that any supplier would have access to the padded vinyl like that. This was touched on in another thread here Sew foam questions for all the trimmers
You should cut a piece of the material and either give it in person or mail it to your upholstery suppliers. I've done that in the past. The pros who work at these warehouses have a really good eye for matching material and they're always willing to help. Contact Albright. They're very friendly and helpful.
Bostrum seats are a big deal, they retail starting at like 1k+ per seat.. if I was a gambling man I’d bet they get a special deal from ultraleather where they produce just that for them since they manufacture so many seats.
