  • Where are shops finding talent?
Its tough I have tried Indeed, Facebook and reached out to Wyotech. I have a small shop in Iowa with a lot of work & I am by myself. I have been looking for someone to come in wanting to be in the business, learn and in a few years take over when I retire. No luck at all for a couple years now.

@Tyler Resch what kind of PVC are you using, curios on its benefits over ABS or the old school door cards?

    Thank you!
  • Early metal clips
Thanks Fred! They were wedged in the "u-channel" of the frame. I am assuming that the correct ones you listed above go around the frame and not wedged into it? Thanks again.

  • How much to charge for re-carpeting a bass boat
I have done several and it takes time. I get three days labor at least to remove, prep and recover. This is for a 17-18ft Lund as they get bigger the labor amount goes up. I used to think that I could pull it all out in a day, recover it the next bam boom. It never works out that way.
  • Custom Car Cover
I wouldn't use vinyl, I think it would not breathe well and trap moisture. I've used Softouch for car covers before, its a little pricey but has a soft backing.
  • Pucker
Hey Cody try putting a cut in your salvage edge in that corner, maybe even a few leading to it and after. I have had to do that before on tight turns and corners.
  • rugged use fabrics?
I use a lot of 1000 denier for fire apparatus seats. Seems to hold up well.
  • Foam pulling through big rings
I am going to try some burlap. So while I have your attention. What is everyone using for listing wire these days. I see the covered wire to prevent squeaking but is there anything new out?
  • 2004 VW Beetle Sunroof after headliner

  • 1/8th hedliner
Ya the 3/16 made the sunroof sun shad slide hard. And the pattern & color match was best with the 1/8
  • GBody Trim

  • Switches for seat heaters
I don't know of any but in those situation and even in newer vehicles I have sourced stock switches so it looks factory. Maybe you can find a switch for something else from that era so it looks original.
  • Flames in seat
I just finished this Mastercraft this week. I did these a little different. I did some test stars for the customer and they did not want the white back of the black showing on the edge. So I cut these and folded them under before sewing. It probably cant be done like this with flames but worked for the stars.

  • Pleats
I was using some inch twill tape. The two seams are just a 1/2 inch apart. I grabbed some other material remnants I had and got it to work better. I am still getting a better raised section on the back side versus the front.
