So this is a first, 2014 Dodge Ram, out in new leather skins. We removed the seats did the install installed and the airbag light is on. I have double checked all connection, the battery was disconnected for the removal and install. Im thinking it has to be reset with a code reader since we messed with it? Anyone have experience.
I find that most American and Japanese(except Nissan) cars will reset on their own if someone turned the key on by mistake. German cars a big no no. I would say you have a wiring issue. I know that your checked your wiring under the seat but maybe you have a pinched or disconnected wire at the bag.
I'm a certified tech at a dodge dealership. The conectors tend to be sensitive to poor connections. Its common in those trucks especially with thr thorax inflators in the back seat sides. Double check all connections and unplug them and plug back in 1 at a time. Also when you turn the key on the modules self check the system and if it doesn't see an airbag issue it shuts the light off instsntly. So each connector you try, cycle the key
We purchased a $100 OBD reader, it resets SRS lights for the models that don't reset themselves such as Mercedes. The best feature is that in a situation like this it will usually tell you what seat is tripping the light, this way you know exactly where to check for bad connections.
