  • Police Interceptor Body Cloth
Oh sorry you mean the newer vehicles. I actually get the covers ready to go from The Seat Shop
  • Police Interceptor Body Cloth
The tweed material I think you are referring to is long gone. I get a close match From Three Rivers Supply.
  • Heel pad installation
I take a piece of material with a cotton back like for a vinyl top. I glue the smooth side to the heal pad first. I trim it off carefully. Then I sew around the edge so that piece can never lift. Then I glue that to the rug with Weldwood Cement.
  • Attaching phantom top shells.
Non acid silicone. Steel closed head rivets
  • How's buisiness?
I am in Boston and we mostly do repairs. I have noticed work picking up due to people willing to spend some money on the car there keeping.
  • Uneven glue below leather
My suggestion would be to strip off leather and get a nice clean surface. Since you are brushing the glue on I would only glue the french stitch. Then I would stretch the material and only glue the under edges. That way there would be no chance that the glue could telegraph thru the material.
  • Solution for puffiness on seat panel
You could always use velcro(loop) sew foam and glue a strip of the velcro(hook )to the cushion
  • Tools!
I use the old fashion irons for clothes.Heavy and smooth
  • Stayfast shortage?
    Try Three Rivers
  • Auto upholstery velcro hold down
I use an industrial-type hot glue gun that puts out a ton of product. I use it on embedded seat wires that have ripped out as well as those lousy orange click fasteners.
  • Foam saws/cutter
It works very well. The only thing I do not like is that it uses 2 Phillips screws to hold the base plate on. Its kind of a pain to remove and re install
  • 2017 beetle seats
I Did Golf about that year. The heater was incorporated into the cover but you have the ability to bring it over to the new cover.
  • Add a head rest to Jeep back seat
It would not be hard, but my feeling is that you will open yourself up to a liabilty situation in the event of an accident. They are head restraints not rests.
  • Convertible rear windows
I feel you brother. That is way more common I find with plastic than glass.Older Mustangs drive me nuts so I try to convince my customer to use glass. One trick a guy showed me was, assuming the window is installed correctly. When you are installing the top and every thing looks mint except the top has now created a little looseness in the window.. Now the wireon has not been installed at this point. Draw a line on the front edge of the wireon bow where the top is laying. Open the latches and pull the rear bow up until the line you drew is in the center of the bow. Staple across. Lock latches. This will pull the whole rear window curtain up and get that little pucker out. Always remember though we are our worst critics. I worry about things that all the time that a customer never mentions. But wrinkles in tops bug me so I try to do it right.
  • Leather stretch mark
I always say it's hard to wrap an egg in leather. I would slather that area in leather cream and go at it with my steamer. The cream will protect it while you work it . If it gets ruined you were looking at doing it over anyway. You may run into the same issue again though.
  • Eletron Top ordering
Wow what has happened to EZ ON? I know they are now part of that conglomerate however their quality control SUCKS . Almost every order I see a problem. .Just got a Mustang top where they missed the edge when they sewed on the binding. Now car and customer sits here dead while I await the new top with fingers crossed. Might have to go back to KEY with their lousy staple lines.
  • Best Convertible Top Brand for a Ferrari 430
I am not sure what you are asking? Are you saying that OEM plus is better than GAHH or vise versa?
  • small/short vs larger/longer jobs
We mostly do repairs/small jobs and convertible tops. Small jobs are great when things are busy but you will feel it when its not. Guys that do completes seem to be busy all the time but I am not sure if they are really profitable. I have a retail location so I need to turn cars over. I think if I had a big barn or something at my house I might think differently.
  • Looking for Bosch Foam Saw
Buy the Acu Cutter 500 you will be happy with it.
  • Air Bag Light On
I find that most American and Japanese(except Nissan) cars will reset on their own if someone turned the key on by mistake. German cars a big no no. I would say you have a wiring issue. I know that your checked your wiring under the seat but maybe you have a pinched or disconnected wire at the bag.
  • GM A body convertible top - which one
Just get the one from EZON and dont over think it. Fit is great. Staple at end of trim stick for floating. Hang 1/2 inch off trim stick for one with holes. Remember to pull corner down 1/2 to 3/4 0f stick in either case.
