Hey everyone, Maybe someone can help sort this out for me. It seems that some top manufacturers make just one version (pattern) of top for 68-72 GM A bodies, while another makes 2 versions, depending on whether the car has a fixed or floating rear bow, the difference being in whether the quarter flap is cut full or with a notch down low behind the rear side windows. Having been made 2 different ways oem is totally logical. My question is how do you know exactly which top would go with a fixed bow and which with a floating bow with certainty, given it would be very unusual that the top to be replaced is original, and probably most manufacturers offer just one version? Or will one version work for both without problems? I have a car here that the top that was listed doesn’t match what was on the car, but what if the car had the wrong top when it came here? I’ve been told there may be a very slight gap if you install the notched version on the wrong car. Thanks for any input.
Just get the one from EZON and dont over think it. Fit is great. Staple at end of trim stick for floating. Hang 1/2 inch off trim stick for one with holes. Remember to pull corner down 1/2 to 3/4 0f stick in either case.
