Auto upholstery businesses are really difficult to sell, unless you know guys working for other local shops that are wanting to branch out on their own. If you're unable to sell the shop, you could also liquidate your tools / inventory to other local trimmers. This way you're not sitting on rolls on rolls of material.

Looks like we are going to just close the business because nobody seems interested or wanting to learn the trade and keep it going. A business that has been going for 70 years and still going strong. I am still hard at everyday at 70, let's see what happens.

that's unfortunate, i'm in the same boat been doing this since 1964 business started in the 40's. can't even give it away. the place is like my oldest child. if someone gets in the business seems all they want to do is custom work, which is nice, but there is a huge need for just a good old cut and sew trim shop and very good stress free income. i'm 78 still here 5 days a week and i can't find a 20 yr old that can show up every day, let alone on time. i'm trying to not throw the baby out with the bath water but looks like it's gonna happen.
