Not that I know of. I would deploy and throw away. Wouldn't want the garbage man compacting the trash and having one blow up lol
auto scrap yard may take them but no idea.

@Chris Viningdepending on makes and models, they sell for decent prices online. People buying them for a “builder” or color change of the interior. May be worth seeing if you can make a few bucks, for a small bit of time posting them online. Sell them cheap enough to not last long but enough to make it worth it. Also like stated above a salvage yard may buy them also

@Cody Lunning I am sure you will nail it this time. You do good work and taking the time to make a project better is golden!

only thing about that is. Selling used airbags is just as bad as restitching seats with airbags in them with the wrong thread. I would be more afraid of liability of bags not deploying than what its worth for something that wasn't originally mine.
    IMO

@Adam Gabriel I could see this. But growing up in the auto repair industry. Used bags are sold and used all the time, if it’s not an insurance claim. Not saying you don’t state a valid point. But it’s more common than most people think. Think of a used car dealer. They are the worst, or best, at using things like this to save a buck on a vehicle they got cheap with a clean title and want to flip.

It's all fun and games until you blow someone's testicles off...

The videos are funny, but I'd never do it myself.

does any one remember that stat about how many trimmers or garage people die a year working on airbags?

Nope, but in 2017 we reported on a shop employee who died when an airbag deployed by mistake, causing head trauma. At the time, he was the 11th such death in the United States related to faulty Takata airbags. You can read the article here.
