A bit of a backstory I think may help with my question.

I had moved back to my home town in Iowa 5 yrs ago. I had to basically start the business back up from scratch as I had been gone for 15 yrs and didn’t know how to do upholstery before I left. So know one knew I could do it when I moved back. So things were slow and after about a year I contacted Alea leathers about prefab kits. My thinking was dealerships in the area. I knew the dealerships traveled over an hour in most cases to have leather kits installed. Maybe get a few local dealership to come to me. But it was like as soon as I inquired it picked up and has been steady. So I never talked to dealers or advertised it. No one asks about it and I’m all sewn in house interiors. It’s still steady now, but I’m changing up some aspects of the business that will free up some time.

So my question is, for those of you that offer kits such as this, what percentage is it roughly of your work? Do you advertise it? Keep in mind I live in rural small town Iowa. I don’t have dealerships on every corner. But they are with in a reasonable drive. I have a few ideas for the free time but this I’m looking for outside information and help with.

the kits are fine...Katskin---Roadwire both good
just make sure..double check before you order...on vehicle arm rests head rests etc..

if you don't have a lot of competition you can do very well with them
