While the seat/doorpanel project is underway, I'm looking to add sound deadening material to the floor pan of the 69 Camaro. The car has new carpets and the blocks of carpet insulation appear to be glued to the bottom of the carpet and to the floorpan. The backseat was easy, they never added the padding so I was able to use a heat gun to remove the old "padding" and scrape it clean then install the SILESS 80 mil sound deadening.

Haven't tried heat on the insulation/carpet combo yet, but I don't want to ruin a new carpet that was installed a couple of years ago. Any advice?
