I’ve seen places like NW crafted, Snowden, tmiproducts, Just to name a few, who make their own seats. These are their Instagram handles, and may not be their company names. I’m curious as to what it takes to get a seat qualified to be able to sell it? It would have to be certified wouldn’t it? Or is it just like when people make one off seats, and don’t have to have them checked?

On a second note, has anyone had a company make seat foam for them for production runs? I have had people approach me from a local club about producing replacement seat cushions for Audi’s along with replacement covers. Wondering what the initial investment is and if it’s even worth it. I’m going to guess probably not.

I’m more interested in the second question. Just curious about the first.

Its def worth it, I use a vendor...330 to my door with bolsters versus economy foam at 1.5 inch times 4 to do a bench 2 sheets high density 2 sheets medium density is 90 to 100 bucks most have about a day in sculptin, grinding ect so for 200 bucks your saving a day labor which will allow you to turn it a day sooner.

Not to forget so I charge 500 for the foam kit and a day of sculpting is by the hr.

you have a company that reproduces foam for you? If you don’t mind could you post the company or the message me the name? I’d like to get more details. I’d rather. It try to sculpt them if possible. I feel more work than it’s worth. But if I had real numbers I could get to the car club and see what the actual interest is vs window shoppers.
