Hello again my Hogring family. I have been using the DAP Landau Top & Trim glue for a few years now; it works very great and have no issues with its bonding capacity.
However I do notice it leave an after smell, especially after doing headliners and door panels and a few of my customer have ask about it even after proper cleaning has been done.
I do live in the tropics and the heat can be rather high most of the time and that's when the glue after smell are most noticeable.
Is there any way to minimized this from occurring or are there other adhesive which can be use which does not give the same effect? I do like working with this glue but would appreciate any input and advice from you all. Thanks
The smell is bad and very unhealthy. You're right that it's most prominent in hotter climates, where there's a lot of off gassing.
I'm not aware of any glues that have good odor or no odor at all. My advice is to aerate the car before giving it back to the client, leaving all the windows open in a windy area.
Also, advise the owner to continue aerating the car for a few days afterwards.
Thanks Nadeem; Yes I did advice the client to aerating the car and I also have done so as well; was just hoping there are some alternative to solve this issue. Thanks again for the input.
