I have a customer that wants heated seats on a 60’s era pick up truck. He is worried that the switches won’t fit in with the vehicle era. Does anyone know of quality seat heaters that come with an old fashion/classic looking switch? Or are the switches for seat heaters electromechanical and I can use any type switch? I don’t know if seat heater switches have electronics built into them to control the seat heaters or if I can use a standard switch to control a module that controls the seat heaters. Has anyone used different switches than what came with the seat heaters to keep with the classic car feel?

I don't know of any but in those situation and even in newer vehicles I have sourced stock switches so it looks factory. Maybe you can find a switch for something else from that era so it looks original.

could you mount the switches out of sight like on the front of the seat, the side of the seat, or maybe in the ashtray?

Thanks for the comments! I will have to look at both of those options when I get the truck in. If I can find a place to put the switch out of sight that would be easiest I believe.

Check Corp makes a flat adhesive backed membrane switch that can easily be hidden anywhere.

I will have to look at that. I there a reputable source for seat heaters? I see them selling for anywhere from $39 up to $500 a heater. What heaters have installers have good results with?

I use Check Corp, but I know of people using Roadwire. Most of them are the same from
    what I have seen.

Exactly my thoughts. Just hide the switch.

Quite possibly you could use a low current switch that looks correct and use it to opperate a relay.

I talked the customer into letting me hide the switch. I really appreciate everyone’s comments. I am going to try the Alea seat heaters.

You could also get a different style switch that looks more OEM and re-wire it
