  • Plastic cleaner
I'm in the same boat Tegan, I've expieremented with several solvents. In the past I've used alchol then scuff the plastic with 80 grit then another wipe down with alchol. Then I would do a Light layer of weldwood contact cement, let it dry then apply a normal coat and proceed as normal. I will likely switch to lacquer. Fred, I like your method of an underliner.

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely give it a shot next time I redo a headliner.
  • Patterning techniques
I've been trying to learn how to pattern from scratch and im having having a very hard time. I've tried different materials and techniques and maybe I'm making it harder than it should be but i just can't seem to get the results I'm looking for. My problem areas are anything round lol. I feel so confident each time I start and then things just start to spiral out of control. Would someone be willing to break this down even farther for me?

  • New member introduction and question on creating a good estimate.
Thank you for the feed back guys. Great article Fred, and i think you are 100% correct in the statement of accurate estimates being crucial. I'm piecing together a quick reference sheet for job times to use now. I will post it in here when I am done for any feedback.
