    Simple as notching the edge of your panel to match the thickness and # layers that you are wrapping around the panel, then under cut the material you are wrapping around the back.

    I too have had this issue, I did some extensive research on foam and I did come up with a dense landau foam that will not impress like the standard landau from fabric suppliers. Have had much better luck with it, I purchased a whole roll and will sell by the yard. Anyone wanting a sample I will gladly send one.

    Think the only purple is in stayfast hotrod in cloth, no vinyl. Kee has it in stock. I just orderd a top and asked David @ Kee about it, said they just had puple cloth come in.

    I believe what you are looking for is Trunk Liner, most suppliers have it in black, dark gray and light gray.

    I have had good luck with just air nozzle, air just gets under the foam and peels it off, go over with a scotch pad, blow it off again and done.

    I use aluminum or hardboard for all my base panels. not fond of the expansion of abs.

    Carefully peal off the fabric, I do sand off about 1/4" of the formed foam off, then when i do my cover, ]I use 1/2" sew foam for the pleats.

    I found that the mini belt sander works great for making channels
