Well what you have in that picture is a metal panel that screws in that’s black and they have made a insert inside the raised groove in the metal. You should use a piece of 1/8 abs cut inside to fit the raised groove and wrap I wouldn’t use anything thick or won’t look right when door was opened

I haven’t had that issue but I have fixed a few of them because of a rear vent issue and had to modify to stop the rear from moving altogether there’s a lot of information about there problems online on some of the Bmw forums they might have some first hand insight. Sorry I know how much of a pain sunroofs are.

I don’t have a shop I worked at a few for the past 12 years and do a lot of sidework in my experience I’ve made the most money on motorcycle seats. There small quick and easy for the most part

One was a template from leatherseats.com and the other was a homemade one both are acrylic lazer cut

I’ve always used that template perfect that doesn’t stretch but have since moved to the light gauge clear plastic and like that best.
