  • Flat french seam
I doubt they used any foam on the backsides of that material.
I've seen 1/4" then they run the skiver over the material and it will remove the foam in their seam allowance.

sometimes its heard to tell on a screen, but usually can narrow it down, or buy a half yard of each one you think.
  • Door Panel Staples
I buy new staples and hand drill the tiny holes (1/16th i believe), insert the staple and bend around.

  • How to avoid scratches on top w/plastic windows?
we buy car cover material from Trivantage. Called Matrix or something like that.. we roll it out on our table and staple it down so it doesnt slide. Company I worked for prior made sewn covers with elastic on the edges and put over top of their tables.

Ill also give the customer this material for when they store it. I give them enough to cover all the panels. Its cheap, 3-5$ a yard

  • SMS auto fabrics
Call and make a dispute with your credit card along with a review on BBB. They responded to my issue on that relativity quickly. Goodluck
  • "contract" work always pays late
Thank you for all the comments and reply's back.
I have sat down with the owner once a maybe 8 months back and they cleared up their debt and now we're back to square one. This company has always dealt with these problems and I think him turning away is his natural position.

The whole interest free financing thing kills me, and I'm glad I don't have employees or else I would be screwed. I don't mind not paying myself to keep this contract work, because like i said, it pays well... when it does pay. Other companies can not be like me though, and thats my downfall. Too nice.. and not a business man. my forever fault in life

In August I emailed them to tell them about a price increase in Ultra Leather and told them if they paid up some, I would put that money towards more Ultra Leather that we need on the next few projects instead of increasing costs... Trying to be nice and would hope they would see the benefit in that. But nope, no response back or anything.
  • I need help!!
Fred Mattson would be able to help, he is here on this forum for anyone needing help. @Fred Mattson
  • fabric roll storage large cardboard tubes
concrete tubes when you stack over a couple high on each other crush they smash from the weight. Have these stacked 10 high with material in them and haven't even thought of collapsing.

  • How to change listing patterns for custom applications in a pre-existing seat foam
depends on your application and I can only speak on behalf of the ones i know..

1-Wood base- cut foam and pull tether down to staple

2-obviously you could liquid listing (glue it down inside or to the foam)

3- Or you can sew the listings in the seats, use a long needle and sink it down through the foam and tie on the backside. Channeling the foam out will make the listing pull inside more.
  • airbag dispopsal
only thing about that is. Selling used airbags is just as bad as restitching seats with airbags in them with the wrong thread. I would be more afraid of liability of bags not deploying than what its worth for something that wasn't originally mine.
    IMO
  • airbag dispopsal
Not that I know of. I would deploy and throw away. Wouldn't want the garbage man compacting the trash and having one blow up lol
auto scrap yard may take them but no idea.
  • Source for carpet snaps?
    Trivantage used to sell them
DOT Durable Veltex Carpet Snap Socket #93-XX-10222-1A

  • SMS auto fabrics
ofcourse they are quick to send out samples, they want your money! lol

same problem from me though. took a little over a thousand dollars from me and never sent material. customer was getting pissed at me. months and months went by, filed a dispute with my credit card and got my money back. That next week, SMS sent out the material.. Everything fabric wise was perfect but then SMS called and bitched because of the dispute. Ended up ending the job with the customer, sent the fabric back and learned my lesson with them.
    Goodluck
  • Fischer space pen
Mothers VLR, vinyl leather rubber cleaner..
    no harsh chemicals for me
  • Trim tag
wouldnt a dealership be able to pull up the original int ext colors?
You use the vin and do a VIN lookup online which would break down all the options for the car
  • Foam shaping
    you got it, goodluck!
  • Foam shaping
If you have a band saw/foam saw/meat knife, cut the corner off all the way down and then finish off with a grinder.

You can also layer the foams so that the last piece glued on is rolled over the one underneath it, it would give that rounded look without even grinding or cutting anything if that makes sense
  • Air bag seats
How does Katzkin and Roadwire sew up seat covers and trust companies to install them onto seats with bags?
