Oh how I dred plastic windows in tops. Anyone have a way to put these on without that minor scratch? I dont wanna touch the plastic at all. But there is always that one place that touches something or my head bumbed it and it needs cleaned.

I put a thicker masking tape over the window on both sides. Works good for me. Doesn’t leave residue.

We use saran wrap. Stretch it over the window and gently press on and it should stick right to the plastic window. It also peels right off when the top is finished. Just don't let it bake on in the sun. Get it in bulk at costco or a restaurant supply place.

I use a low tack protective film that sticks to the plastic and then peels off with no residue. No more trying to get tape to stick to vinyl or canvas.

I do alot of backdrops in jetboats out of clear .30 vinyl. They are pretty big so I bought some closeout 1/8" foam headliner I roll out on my bench so I can move and slide them around and they dont scratch at all.

we buy car cover material from Trivantage. Called Matrix or something like that.. we roll it out on our table and staple it down so it doesnt slide. Company I worked for prior made sewn covers with elastic on the edges and put over top of their tables.

Ill also give the customer this material for when they store it. I give them enough to cover all the panels. Its cheap, 3-5$ a yard

If we're making the window, we sew it with paper -- and then rip off the paper when we're done.

If we're just installing, we tape paper on both sides, and then just remove after installation.

    No scratches. No problems.

I used 3m contractor grade masking tape and it left tape marks behind. Tried mineral spirits and its not coming off.

I dont recommend using masking tape or any other tape. The glue on the tape had a chemical reaction the the clear plastic window leaving the texture of the glue embedded in the window. Electron doesn't recommend using tape either.

We have been using clear plastic wrap for years with no problems.
