Just curious what most use to mark pleat lines on cloth. I usually use generals scribe all pencils but find they don’t wipe off cloth as well as vinyl. Also have hard time keeping chalk sharp. Feel like I wast half the chalk resharpening.
I use china markers( black and white) as well as a Space pen (silver). China marker cleans up well with Acry solv applied with foam or micro soft towel
Thanks a lot everyone, I can’t believe I have never thought of a tailors chalk wheel. That seems like it would work well and wipe off w just water. I’ll also try a white china marker too. New to this forum, look forward to learning more from other trimmers
Does the chalk rub off from your hands while your sewing your seams? I haven't tried the Dritz chalk wheel but I'm worried that that might be a problem with it.
They rub off a little from handling, but you can still see the line. It fades even more after the seam. I don’t use it with white thread as it colors the thread a little bit unless you use white chalk.
I use glass markers for a long time but they are expensive an brake fast. Actually I use "stabilo all markers" . They dont brake that fast and do the job. Also they are not that expensive.
Also I use Space pens (silver), chalk and rub off Markers depending on the job/material
For vinyl and leather I've found liquid chalk window markers that are white, I'm not sure I'd trust them on visible areas but non vsible they are great.the best thing is I got them for 4 for £1.
