Hi first can I say how good this new forum looks, excited to see how it comes along and hope I can be of some help. Even though I'm miles away in the uk.

Which brings me to my first question. If anyone can help. Im looking for some original interior pics of a 1970 Mach 1 mustang with a 351 cleaveland, if that make a difference. As I have a customer that wants it to be original but it has been messed with over the years. Would be great if I can get this back to how it's meant to be. Thanks in advance.

The seats originally came with comfort weave vinyl in the inserts which is no longer available. The reproduction vinyl does not look correct, but it is all that is available. The '69 and '70 Mach 1 interiors are the same.

Hey Fred, are you gonna tell the guy where to get the repro vinyl or a kit that has it or are you gonna make him call you from the UK?

I am not sure of any repro seat covers available. I did a '69 Mach 1 from scratch about twelve years ago. Original materials were obtained from a local source and do not know of anyone that has real comfort weave on the shelf.

SMS does not have the correct material. Al Knoch does not have the real material. Reproduction comfort weave vinyl is embossed to look like the original, but it is not breathable and is a close substitute at best. I will try to find some pictures of an original interior, but I can not promise results

Ok. I did a search and found that TMI makes a kit. I cannot endorse the product or the fit, I also found these images on the web.765f7mpjdvkblqkj.jpg

The kits are available through CJ Pony.

Thanks for the help I searched the net but wasn't sure the results were reliable or not. Also wasn't sure if it may have been a special model with a different interior. As you say Fred I'm not sure I'd trust the fit of covers and it's not just up the road to take them back either. You said about the comfort weave have you any close pics of that. Many thanks guys

The only other supplier of NOS material aside from SMS that I know of is Original Auto Interiors in Michigan.

I did a set of the TMI covers for a customer with a 1970 mach 1 a couple years back.
    They turned out real nice.
The original covers actually were not a comfort weave, but a dielectric stamping and the reproduction covers were a spot on match.

I will say I am not a fan of the TMI Repop buns though... Very very stiff.
