What is the best and most secure way to glue a heel pad on carpet in a vehicle. Looking for a glue that may be a one side application to the heel pad, then stick it on the carpet. But also stay in place, without the edges coming loose. And a lot cleaner job than spraying glue.

Most heel pads are sewn to the carpet. Glue alone will not prevent the edges from lifting.

I understand that process, and that’s the best way for that situation when you’re installing new carpet. I’m looking for the best glue that will dry quick and hold the heel pad in a vehicle that has just a hole in the floor to cover. Without a spraying mess.

I use Crest East Coast black insta-bond with accelerator spray on the heel pad edge. Glue the pad down with trim cement and insta-bond the edges.

I take a piece of material with a cotton back like for a vinyl top. I glue the smooth side to the heal pad first. I trim it off carefully. Then I sew around the edge so that piece can never lift. Then I glue that to the rug with Weldwood Cement.
