Just got this 63 falcon convertible done and it all looks good, except it looks like it could have overall been an inch wider. I don't usually do tops unless I'm doing the whole interior as well, so not very many under my belt. This is an electron top, and i know that theyre not really electron anymore but its still supposed to be their patterns. I did pull it back amd replace the 3/8" foam they sent for the pads with 1/4" foam of a similar density, it helped but didnt fix it. Just wondered what everyone's thoughts were. Is this normal for falcons? Should I be calling the supplier? I doubt they're gonna modify the pattern, or is that something they will do? I dunno. The few I have installed have never looked like this.

There are two things that could have been changed to make the top fit better.
    1. Make an adjustment of 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to extend (Loosen) the lower edge of rear sail along the rear tack rail. This will allow the top to move forward and cover the vertical rail of the top frame.
    2. Check the rear bow height and it might help to reposition it allow the top to lay flatter and wider across the top frame.

I also suggest sending these photos to the manufacture of the top and have their engineer determine what to do next.

I have been told that as of January 1, all assets of electron were transfered to EZon and Robbins. I Used electron for over 40 years as my primary go to. The last year +/- the quality steady declined with the new ownership. Sad leaving a void in options.

Yes I was informed by Tracey (I believe one of the last electron employees) that everything had been sold in December, and they're not planning on using the electron patterns.

Did you put new tension wire in it? If not, that could be the issue ?

Very disappointing the conv tops that are being shipped out now are so bad it’s a shame electron had great patterns and the real assets where the craftsman cutting the patterns that’s all gone now I’m a third generation shop been installing conv tops for over 45 years the last year has been so frustrating

Thanks for everyone's responses. Yes I did put in new cables. After speaking with Tracey, they agreed the top wasn't right and theyre are sending a new one.
