hi guys. with your twin needle machines what sized needle gap do you run?
I've just picked up a consew 332r from a blind manufacturer and want to set it up to do vinyls and leather. I will be upgrading the needles as well as they are way too small.

I'm trying to decide on going between a 5/16 or 3/8 as it currently has 1/4 but i want to use it on larger materials.

    5/16 - 0.3125 7.9375
    3/8 - 0.3750 9.5250

i know its only a 1.5mm difference but what is the more favourable size to use?
    Thanks.

Both of my 2 needle machines are set at 3/8" That matches most of the OEM car seats that I measured prior to setting up machines. That appears to work for me with either 3/8 or 1/2 seam allowance.

Needle width on a twin will deepend on what sort of automotive seat you see daily or whatever you like to use.
From the feet pictures your using a needle feed machine? to run a different needle width the machine needs to be set up for it. sorry I'm not sure if you're aware?
