I am working on a classic Ford that the owner is firm on everything being as close to original as possible. I have run into some tack strips that are a fiber board that looks to be impregnated with tar or something similar, A lot of cars have this. I normally replace this with rubber convertible tack strip. The original strip is about an 1/8" thick and the rubber is a little too thick. Has anyone found something to replace this with? I've tried panel board but it don't hold the tacks very well. Any ideas? Thanks
