Has anyone dealt with them? I’m getting some material from them, or want to. But saw a lot of negative reviews about them taking your money and sending the wrong material, or taking close to a year to even ship your order. I google searched reviews after seeing the original and that wasn’t any better. It’s $150 a yard and I need several. Don’t want to waste money and be in limbo for a year. So looking if anyone has first hand knowledge.
I haven't had any issues with them! Very quick to ship samples, and reasonable turnaround time for orders placed. Material was exactly what was ordered.
I have always compared their samples to the material I am ordering first before buying anything though.
They can be good or bad....If you search on here you will get a better feel for how they operate...I refuse to deal with them...If a customer wants a fabric from SMS, I have them order it. That way when it don't work out they don't have a problem with me. Been that route before. Just beware, as they will tell you anything to get your money....just be sure to use a credit card so that the card company can get your money back if things go south. Problem is they are about the only game in town.
I've dealt with them for years and have had no problems. Most recently I received 5 yards of 59 Eldo vinyl that matched perfectly and arrived timely. A few years back Doug purchased my older stock and that transaction also went well. One of my customers had a problem with a custom dyed leather but the problem was resolved quickly by them.
I had a job lined up that required ordering from them. Kind of glad I passed on the job after hearing that. Customer was incredibly up tight and would not have been ok with any mistakes on my part or theirs.
I’m not feeling any more reassured in any direction lol. Maybe I’ll call the customer tomorrow and give them the ins and outs. Stating they run the gambit of reviews and why. Let them make the call
ofcourse they are quick to send out samples, they want your money! lol
same problem from me though. took a little over a thousand dollars from me and never sent material. customer was getting pissed at me. months and months went by, filed a dispute with my credit card and got my money back. That next week, SMS sent out the material.. Everything fabric wise was perfect but then SMS called and bitched because of the dispute. Ended up ending the job with the customer, sent the fabric back and learned my lesson with them.
Goodluck
I have had good and bad experiences with them. I have been dealing with them for at least 25 years. I have found it is best to ask if the material is "in stock" and when will it be shipped? Customer service is not one of their strengths. I would suggest giving it a shot. Trust them until they give you a reason to not trust them. Good Luck!
I now give the customer their name and number and tell them to order the yardage they need. I inform them what to expect when working with them. When they get their materials I will do the job.
I won't deal with assholes.
I’ve used them when necessary... I always tell my customers it’s a crap shoot... sometimes I get samples ... sometimes not.... hard faced cloths can be a problem when they age ... they can tear .... customer service is not great
Don't bother calling that place! It's not worth your time. If you do call them, you should charge them for wasting your time.
"Scam me once shame on you! Scam me twice shame on me." I will not be scammed a third time, I learned my lesson.
If you are like me I have to learn by screwing up. Failure is the best teacher, though it would be a lot cheaper and easier if I could just learn from others.... So go ahead and call them and order something. Then when its wrong or doesn't show up, never order from them again. Don't be a dope like me and order from them twice.
