Hi folks. I have a pair of sunvisors from a '65 Alfa that I need to restore. Originally they had a metal wire frame and just some foam inside but I'd like to "upgrade" them with some board to give them a bit more structure. What material have you all used for this type of work. Any techniques you'd like to share would also be welcome. Thanks. Tom

We use thin polycarbonate taped to the frame and closed cell foam.

I have used 1/8" masonite from the local Menards cut to fit inside the frame, then thin fabric around the frame and glued to the masonite to keep it all tight. Then as Keith said, closed cell foam glued to the masonite and shaped as you want. You can also wrap it with thin card stock, cut a little bigger than the frame and padded. The card stock is then wrapped with finish material and tucked in and sewn all around the edge.
