Hi guys, i have an issue with my Durkopp 291 sewing machine, it keeps slipping a single stitch when i turn a corner.... more specifically when i get to a corner lift the foot with the needle down and turn then drop the foot and continue sewing it misses i don't no how to sort it out...
Any ideas on how i might sort this out? As its beginning to really effect the quality of my work.
Just a guess, as I'm not a repairman although I do work on my own machines, that you maybe pulling the needle sideways so that the hook don't catch the thread. Again, just a guess
its definitely a possibility but might be something else to as i was just sewing a gear knob edge and it did it on every tight turn i hope nothing it bent...
Try loosening the top tension, that has worked for me. Try another thread, the bonded thread may be the problem. Fresh needle? Before starting with machine adjustments
before you lift the foot with needle down, crank the hand wheel forward so the needle comes up almost out of material, then lift foot and turn your corner

Thanks for all the advise guys, its really appreciated, I just figured it out and guess what...... it was me causing it, when i put a needle in i'm pushing up to far which in a way effects the timing of the hook catching the tread loop
Johann is right, my machine used to do the same until I understood to do this.I've now got a needle postioner servo fitted to the machine so when I stop sewing the needle automatically stops in the slightly up position so I can knee lift the foot, turn the material then carry on sewing without it skipping a stitch.
