Hey guys, hoping somone has gone through this before and can give me some insight.

I’ve been working on this 66 mustang top and have tried adjusting the rear 1/4s on the tac strip several times without luck…

I’m centered on the marks provided by the top mfg and decided to walk away and let it sit in a hot shop for the weekend before I adjust it again.

If I pull slightly on the window opening they go away. I have not put any steam or heat to it yet, but had almost the identical wrinkles on a 2003 mustang top I did last year.

My next step is to not stretch the top along the tac strip so much and see if that helps… it doesn’t need much. Just hoping I can get this looking better

    Thanks!

Leave the back bound edge where it is. The top needs to be pulled about 1/4 inch at the 3rd snap fastener and then worked forward. The wrinkle will come out.

Thanks Fred! I’ll give that a shot, my front section at the c pillar is where it belongs but I’ll pull down and forward slightly in that area while leaving both ends.

I seem to struggle with these mustang tops, being self taught I never had the opportunity to look over the shoulder of somone who’s done it for 40 years!
