I am attempting my first snap-on tonneau cover for a Shelby Cobra and was curious if anyone had a good way to make tight and precise templates for a cover that size. Also, would it be better to make the cover first and put my snaps wherever they fall on the body or mount the snaps to the body and build up to them? (if that makes sense) any direction would be helpful but I would prefer the right one.
Thank you for your time.
i would put snaps in the body first. is the windshield out or does it not interfere with the dash snap location? any event i would start front center to back center and then work out to edge. i would make a full pattern rather than 1/2 pattern and then flip as the rollbar may not be centered. if you have the snap pins then put them on studs and pull materials to them and set.
