I have been in the industry since 1979 and this one has me scratching my head. I have been able to staple into gelcoated fiberglass seats with my regular air gun using stainless staples over the yearsbut it won't seem to work on this one. It is a Cobalt 262 and several of the seats are gel coated fiberglass instead of plastic or wood. I am using the regular 22 gauge wire staples that I always use. Years ago I had a Duofast gun that used much bigger staples but it is long gone. Any help would be appreciated.

best bet would be to glue and or use a combination of small stainless screws or alum rivets depending on the locations. We have a couple BEA guns that wont do fiberglass, even the biggest bea gun wont touch it. usually bends the staples around..
Can also adhere firm velcro sticks by glue/screws, then sew velcro to the backside of the cover and wrap around with that for a more uniform finish.

We can staple Thru gel coat and other polyester resins but not if fiberglass is present.
