What business software if any do you use for invoices and work orders, for time and hourly rates. Look at shop boss but I don't know if they go into detail for upholstery. Any help would be great

I have been using QuickBooks Pro for many years. It allows you to create custom invoices and estimates for our business. The learning curve is steep, but the product is stable and very versatile.

Once you have your chart of accounts and Item list set up, making estimates for clients is relatively simple.

Agree with Fred, QuickBooks is the most versatile software I've seen around for this type of application.

If you really want to understand the ins and outs of the program, most community colleges offer night courses on how to use QuickBooks.

Good question. I do everything the old fashion way but I would like something faster. I am trying to get into a night class on this and a business class.

Just checked. It appears there's a global version of QuickBooks that lets you choose from many languages and currencies.

quickbooks works well especially the online version means you can log in anywhere and do a quote or invoice without needing to be at your shop, ive used it both for my security installation business and now getting back to upholstery as well , what id like to know is there any program that allows you to put your fabric dimensions in and let you drop and drag to get the best use of the material

I use Moon Invoice, its a little cheaper and works for my little shop. My accountant hasn't complained about it yet. X-)

We use quick books in our office too. 10+ years and never had to worry about changing software, just lots of software updates. Lol

We use quickbooks online for our accounting but for the actual jobs and invoicing we use Shopmonkey.io.

We use Shopmonkey.io for our shop management needs. Shopmonkey allows us to keep track of vehicle and customer info together, and has many useful shop management features. Highly recommend you check that out if you're an automotive shop! And, or course, we use Quickbooks online for acounting only. (Shopmonkey also has Quickbooks integration and payment processing)

Intuit ( creators of quickbooks) has an app called Tsheets that allows you to track time on projects and customers that links to quickbooks. I use desktop so I dont know if it links to the online version. It has helped us keep better track of projects and time, thus increasing efficiency and profit. Customer service for it is great too.
