I just reupholstered front buckets from a 1973 Barracuda using Legendary Seat Foams and New Covers. These are a high quality product but are very difficult to remove, clean off old foam, and install the new foam and covers. I recommend anyone attempting these watch the video from Legendary to get you up to speed on what is involved.

Removing the old covers is basic. Removing the old seat bottom foam is basic. However, removing the upper cover gets interesting due to removal of the long rods that are used to secure the sides. Then comes foam removal. The seat frames are MOLDED INTO THE FOAM!! They just don't separate. You have to cut them apart, dig out the pieces, and then use a wire brush to remove any remaining foam from the frame. First one took 2 hours. Other took 1.5 hours. I saved time by cutting the foam with my electric carving knife. Then continued the piece by piece removal

Then glue the new foam around the cleaned frame, and only then can you start to install the tightest seat covers I've ever experienced! As usual, the sun and steam are your friends. and maybe some silicone as well. Don't get in a rush, and refer to the video as often as you need to refresh a couple critical steps. I believe these are the LAST Cuda seats I will ever do again. It will take a few days for my arthritic hands to recover:-)

    Happy Sewing!!

@Larry Walton Thank you for your update getting these seat covers to fit and look properly. Your approach to tackling this project shows that you are a true professional. Too many times we hear of how horrible a product is without going the extra effort to make it look right.

Most of these issues are covered in my latest book. Pre-manufactured kits are difficult to make look right, but complaining about it on-line is not the best way to deal with a problem.

Thank you again for the professional way you presented this.n6uho8i3f7v81buw.jpg
