hi Everyone, This is my first post on The Hog ring... great forum.
I live In the U.K. where I mainly make motorcycle seats. My problem is that I am having a really difficult time trying to source some bonded polyester thread in 10 and 15 tkt size for some bold top stitching. I am able to purchase 20 tkt/138 but just can’t manage to get my hands on anything heavier... I can however purchase Amman Serafil in the larger sizes.
I know that Serafil is really only specified for interior use... but, does anyone use it for motorcycle seats. I only ask this because I do not really see any seats I would use it on seeing any significant wet weather conditions. I know how weather resistant serabond is. and I would not use anything other than Serabond or another bonded polyester thread with anti wick etc. for anything that would be subjected to hostile weather conditions... but, is Serafil okay to use on seats that would mainly be a fair weather bikes ?.

    Hi Paul,

don't know if you've tried them, but maybe SOMAC could help?

    Cheers,
