It's apparently a new association created to “support and advance the field of professional upholstery.” They say their mission is to “inspire a rebirth of the upholstery profession as a collaborative community of artists, entrepreneurs, historians, and champions for sustainability.”
It appears to be comprised mostly of furniture upholsterers, but they're aiming to attract members from all sectors of the industry — auto, marine, aviation, commercial.
On Thursday, they're gonna announce their "strategic plan" for the new year.
Curious if anyone here has heard of them? Or maybe is already a member?
Shame no one has responded about this. Something we need in this industry and I’m going to look into. I just appreciate this forum and thank you and your brother for taking the time to create it.
I do think we need more specific categories for posts when creating them with maybe a drop down. Would help navigating since the Forum is growing.
Possibly:
Removal & Install Advice
Material Matching
Convertible Tops
Tool and Equipment Reviews/Recommendations
Panel Construction (Doors/Center Console/ Etc)
Inspiration/Show off work
Business Finance Talk/Advice
For Sale/In Search Of
Etc...
Search function works great but the more tradesmen that join, the harder it is to navigate posts. Again Thanks, love the Forum
Thanks Justin! We're looking into them too. Could be something cool there.
Also, thanks for the feedback on categories. We currently have 6 -- and people don't always use them. Not sure if adding more will help that. But we'll certainly consider it.
