Season greetings my fellow upholstery brothers and sisters; I trust this season find you all with great health and success.

I have a question about the coating if any that are put on the cloth used for automotive upholstery, my reason for asking is that I have a customer who had bought a brand new truck and the seats are cloth. He has noticed that there might be some allergic reaction happening whenever he sit in the seats for too long. It only happen with this specific truck and therefore I would like to know if any one encounter or have heard of such situation before. And if the cloth fabric are coated with some kind of protestant. I don't do cloth seat unless customer insist, and I notice some of the fabrics used are a little different on the surface from regular upholstery fabrics.

Your input to better understanding these fabric are most welcome.
