Self taught trimmer here,
I am making a cover for a small aircraft out of marine canvas however the canvas is rather abrasive and I would prefer something softer for the inside touching the painted finish. The cover that I looked at in person appeared to have a soft cotton tshirt material on the inside. What would your suggestion for bonding a softer material to the inside of the canvas be. Weldwood spray glue, edge sew only, or some other method. My fear would be the weldwood glue would soak through a soft cotton fabric.
Any suggestions for materials and adhesives or tip greatly appreciated.
For indoor or outdoor use, and does the color matter?
I was thinking car bra material. I believe Rochford supply carries a line of felt or cotton backed boat cover material.
It's for outdoor use I'll check into the car bra material. Although I know the better covers on the market are made using silver sunbrella canvas but has some sort of soft material bonded to the inside.
