Does anyone know the location of the trim tag for a 1976 Grand Prix might be locates. Customer wants the seats done in factory or close to factory material. The car has been repainted once and I’m afraid the tag is missing. I found the vin tag in the door but that’s about it.
Sorry Cody but VIN tells you very little. It is the Data Plate. Order your factory build documents from PHS online to get the correct build for your car. That would tell all original options on car. I think they are $75 each.
Dang. I was afraid of this. I think all but this vin tag was removed when painted. We check the glove box also. I’ll have to see if I can go som searching around to find close material. Thanks everyone
wouldnt a dealership be able to pull up the original int ext colors?
You use the vin and do a VIN lookup online which would break down all the options for the car
@Adam Gabriel I tried the vin break down from what I could find online. It was t much help.
Here are some pics. One shows both the smooth and square pattern material. The other just the smooth material. I feel like #6211 from a 79 Mercury looks close going off the small pic on SMS
Forget the original material, you will NEVER locate enough to do all the seats. If you are looking for something HALFWAY close, there is jupiter scarlet and neptune scarlet. they are after market patterns sold by many suppliers.
