I have several staplers. Pneumatic (air) staplers long and short nosed BEA 1/2" crown and an old 1/4" narrow crown for fine work. I also use Duo-fast electric staplers when I work in the field and have no access to an air compressor.

I have a Fasco and a few other no name staplers. I mainly use 3/8" crown long nose and my 1/2" crown snub nose for most projects.

Senco model J 1/2
Senco SJS 3/8.

I purchased the long nose last and it should have been my first. I am hard pressed to think of situations where the long nose would not work. The one advantage of the Senco SJS is it will handle 5/32 staples where the Fasco lower limit is 1/4. As far as 1/2 vs 3/8, I like having both and matching the staple to the job. While not listed, I have two construction narrow crown staplers for wood structures. I feel they are better suited to plywood assemblys then air nailers. The thin small head can easily pull through thin plywood. A narrow crown construction grade staple does the job.

next question is, where do you find the best place to buy staples? and stainless ones.

I have use 1 stapler for the last 17 years. My porter cable. For the past 7-8 years I have been doing all of the upholstery for a small, local fitness equipment manufacturer. At times when they were real busy I would go through 10k + staples per month. (Unfortunately they are no longer that busy) My cheap little Porter Cable was my one and only stapler, and its still running strong! Not bad for a $90 ($80 when I purchased it) stapler. I know the BEA and Fasco are higher quality, but the price isn't worth it for me. esecially when my cheap beginner stapler has held up so well.

Just a few month ago I bought a Meite long nose stapler $98 from amazon. So far it's working good, but I haven't used it enough to give an honest review.

As far as staples I buy mine from DLT, Midwest or Amazon. Normally the pricing is about the same. Just be careful on Amazon there are soo many options it can be hard to sift through it all. I tend to just order from my suppliers. Support the people you know and all that. Especially when there is no big difference in price.
