  • Oldest shears you ever seen?
I worked at a shop where the father of the owner had an old gold pair. Remember one time they fell in the water at the marina, he was so upset called a diver out to retrieve them. Wish I had a picture. Only pair he ever used.
  • Different options for steamers.
I use the Jiffy 4000. Its great for big jobs I just have to anticipate the day or time I'm going to use, that way I already have it preheated. Use an Esteam for small jobs that I just need a quick steam on. Steams within a minute but has the downfall of not being able to hold horizontallly.
  • Vinyl for soft side windows and convertible tops
Not a problem these companies have good customer service also, most of the shops in our area use them. Always nice to lend a hand to someone else in the industry.
  • Vinyl for soft side windows and convertible tops
Manart-Hirsch, Three Rivers Supply, Textile Commission are all good companies for marine grade vinyl glass and top materials. Strataglass is a high performer when it comes to quality its more resistant to scratches than others, price will reflect. Hope this is a good starting point
  • My Shop
@Naseem Muaddi Completely understandable not wanting to intrude on their business. We all need some friends in this industry. Wood shop sounds to be a good idea but myself I don't know how I'd feel about carrying wood supplies up the stairs all the time.
  • My Shop
@Naseem Muaddi Time for some embroidery machines in the new space. Had a shop I worked for that wanted to build a second floor to expand into embroidering. Not a bad idea if you have the funding
  • 90 Camaro Cloth
Appreciate your reply I'll look into the site. Always nice to have new resources to use since I don't have a collection of Detroit books
  • 90 Camaro Cloth
Future Reference Miami Rubber has the years 1999 to 2013 Detroit books online to look thru. Hard to match on a computer screen though
  • Detroit Body Upholstery Books
Priceless. If I had the funds I would shoot you a reasonable offer
  • Removing stains from vinyl
I've always used Goo Gone and not Goof Off for removing glue and some other stains from vinyl. Its a more natural formula. Then when I'm finished I'll wipe down with a mild detergent. Especially if its a boat seat. Some solvents don't mix well with UV Rays
  • Juki 1508NH Sewing Machine
I bought a Juki 1508N couple years ago when i first started and i love it. Never had any issues with the machine as long as it stays oiled and clean every so often. Bought from Keystone in PA. Owner had it set up to use 135x17 needles. Rarely have to change the needles. Don't think I'd ever use another machine unless it was an Adler
  • Show off your latest custom upholstery work.
First custom motorcycle seat I completed for Ocean City Bike Week. Customers choice of fabric Morbern Tangerine Wave, Morbern Newport Ebony with orange contrast stitching and Boss Hoss V8 logo incorporated. Has 2 layers of gel padding. Isn't perfect I'm still learning but I love a challenge.
