    I’ve been using the Consew about 2 years now and it’s working well for me I have both 8in and 12 in blades it cuts thick foam no problem
  • What machine do you guys use for French / double seams?
    I have a Consew 339-4 regular machine have never regretted it I quite often see 48in by9 foot precise for semi truck sleepers a long arm would be nice but I make it I also have a juki 1760L post machine I do a lot of French seams on it’s a beast I’m also a one man shop but these machines save me a lot of time

    I trim it close to the stitch and just apply glue to the seam and dash where I want the seam first and carefully put it down first also if you can use foam that will help I’m sure Fred or some of the guys on here can explane it better I’m self taught so mine may not be the best way but it works for me

    Thanks Geoff for the information I’ve been using weldwood for years it does a great job but I didn’t know you could steam and soften it I also saw the show mike was talking about and wondered the same thing I was always told not to steam leather always learning something from everyone on here and I’ve been trimming 30yrs lol

    Definitely a post bed machine I have 2 consew 339 RB-4 machines and a tight corner is a little tricky I didn’t know when I was buying but like you I wanted a perfect seam I use mine a lot don’t regret buying them for a minute
