• How's buisiness?
where are you located? I do mostly repair work, some boats and a few pieces of furniture and restaurant booths. I’m busy enough with used cars dealerships, and some retail.
  • Mobile Upholstery
There’s one around Seattle, Seat Slammers Inc. They use an older UPS type van for the Mobile service.
I do a hybrid style mobile service. Doing some of the vinyl repair, and then taking the seat covers home to sew them and return them to the customer.
  • Where are shops finding talent?
It’s hard to find workers. I do mostly mobile vinyl and leather repair, and small reupholstery jobs. I go pick up the seats or seat covers from the customers, and then bring them home, sew them, take them back a couple days later. I’ve recently recruited my aunt to help sew. And I’m training a 16yo kid to help me. Hope he’ll work out for the summer. I’ve been working 12-14 hours a day since January. Need some help to get to more regular working hours.
  • Looking for foam backed vinyl headliner 92 Mercedes SL500 hardtop
Veteran has the right vinyl pattern/color but not foam backed. I ended up using that vinyl and glued some regular headliner to it. It made a couple of wrinkles in the back corners, but customer was happy with the end result.
