• Hello.. amazing to be here!
Hi Chris, welcome onboard. I am going through a similar scenario - trying to master the top stitch on the armrests of the T5/6’s. I have recently purchased a new DA 867 but also looking at a post bed machine that can manage the headrests and I must say much more tricky armrests. The post bed machines are not cheap and not at all justified for my occasional use but I have just take receipt of a DA presser foot that just might save the day. Take a look at College Sewing. It cost over £100 as you have to buy the dogs. Yet to experiment, but massively cheaper than a new machine! I tried a half-foot but that didn’t help. DA presser feet are mighty expensive but if you can find the appropriate accessory, worth it.

Thank you Nadeem. Much to learn but this is a step in the right direction! I’m just starting out and so far have been patterning from existing seat covers but whilst they have been in good condition to pattern from, I’m sure Brent’s method is more professional and possibly more time efficient. I have so far been backing vinyl with scrim but interesting to see he adds it to the seat foam instead. Unless pleating of course. Thanks again, appreciate the link.
