  • 2010 Camaro Alcantara headliner
That looks really Jens. I like the idea
  • Thread holder
I have a dowel rack much like the others. Also, I've been labeling all of my material for the last five years and it's made a huge difference for me. Finding material and reordering is so much easier now.
  • Headliner installation
Wow that's crazy. We get $350
  • Varying tension of the upper thread
    Very interesting. Thanks for sharing
  • Sewing square/small radius corner help
I try to avoid 90 degree corners all together when sewing piping. Whenever possible try to round off your corner. It's easier to sew and avoids the problem you're having.
  • Thread of what
    ↪Jesse Durkee
    lol that's hilarious
  • Listing material
    I think you're talking about this https://www.albrightssupply.com/Typar-Seat-Listing-No-Cord-1-1-2-p/typar1.htm

It comes in different sizes. If they don't have your size you can always trim it down.
  • Hand stitch designs
I dig the baseball shift knob. Very cool!

  • Best door panel substrate
    ↪Andy Laird
That's awesome Andy! I can't believe you were able to bend and shape the plastic like that. Very cool
  • What adhesives do you use?
    I use Weldwood Contact Adhesive
  • Lighting!
One thing to consider is how the lights will be wired. Some fixtures allow you to plug into one another which makes for easy wiring. Also consider which lights will go on which switches. If you're looking to save money on your electric bill keep in mind there is no sense in lighting areas that you're not working in at the time. At my shop, I only light the bay that I'm working in.
  • Wrapping items.
I'd say you're already doing it right Keith. Those pieces turned out great.

As for preventing the cover from sticking in areas that you're not working on yet, I place several pieces of scrap vinyl between the cover and the piece to prevent the glue from sticking. I'll adhere a small section at a time and remove those scrap pieces of vinyl when I'm ready to work on that area.
  • What’s the most profitable work?
My biggest money makers are repairs on daily drivers. I end up making far more money per hour on headliners, convertible tops and seat repairs than classic interior restorations and custom interiors. That's why I prefer to do the repair jobs over the others.
  • Seat frames/springs
    ↪Fred Mattson
That's a ton of work Fred. If only people understood the amount of prep work before you even start the upholstery
  • Seat frames/springs
    ↪Chris Vining

Very clean work Chris and James!
  • Mark-all pencils/ chalk??? What do you use
    ↪Levi speer
Does the chalk rub off from your hands while your sewing your seams? I haven't tried the Dritz chalk wheel but I'm worried that that might be a problem with it.
  • Foam saws/cutter
    ↪Joseph Bennell
That cordless foam saw looks sweet. I'd like to try that out!
  • Where to buy oem cloth for older vehicles? Detroit books?
